Respite Care
Respite care in Lincolnshire
Short-term live-in cover so a family carer can rest, recover or go away.
Family carers are usually last in the queue for a rest. Respite care hands the role to a live-in carer for a spell, and you get to switch off properly.
Your relative stays in their own home with their routine intact - often far easier than a short stay somewhere unfamiliar.

Signs it may be time
- You can't remember your last proper break
- A family event, holiday or hospital appointment is coming up
- Your own health is starting to suffer
- You're curious about live-in care but not ready to commit

In Lincolnshire
If you're a family carer in Lincolnshire, you can ask Lincolnshire County Council for a carer's assessment. It may lead to support with breaks, and is worth doing even if you plan to pay privately.
How long respite lasts
Most respite stays are between one and four weeks, with a short minimum so everyone can settle. For regular breaks we try to send the same carer each time.
